'I am still a werewolf even if I don't have a wolf….' Nikky was deemed to dwell in a glorious life in Nightcrawler Pack, yet it whirled upside down when she found out she had no wolf inside her. She was way more different than anyone from the pack, including her parents and someone she knew. It sometimes made her question the Moon Goddess why she had to endure the grief and pass a roller coaster journey of life before she could enjoy the true meaning of her existence. Why did it happen to her life? 'More wounds to tend to, more tears to fall, and more pain to endure,' Nikky whispered. "That girl isn't normal; she didn't have a wolf!" "She's dangerous! My child, please avoid her at all costs!" "She's such a weirdo; stay away from Annie!" There was worse gossip Nikky obtained from other werewolves. Some chased and turned out to be her nightmare and sometimes startled her to death. 'They are not the bearers of my life. Even if I can't still shift into a werewolf doesn't mean I do not belong here. I am a late bloomer!' Nikky thought, and still, everyone would not understand it. Nikky knew it was an unpleasant act, yet she could not broadcast it to anyone or the current Alpha of the pack. Like them, she could assure no one would defend her. Her existence in the pack was like air. No one would care about her in the four corners of Nikky's room. She wailed in pain, trying to pass the challenges, the bullies, and the rejection she had earned around her circle. It ached down within her system every time the memories of how everyone laughed at her appeared. She could not help but ask what was wrong with her. Why do other werewolves around the pack see her as a failure? Why was she tortured so severely? Even if she wanted not to exist, she already had, so she had nothing to do but find out who she was. However, when Nikky finally found her new mate years ago, she had guts. That she would also be rejected, as everyone did to her. And she was not wrong. "This isn't acceptable at all, Nikky! I don't want you as my mate!" His voice was loud, full of rage and horror. "I understand…reject me if you must," Nikky said, head bowed. "You are not my partner or my future Luna; Cindy is! Nikky, I am rejecting you as my destined mate." He said without a pause, warning or hesitation. "Yes, Alpha. I am accepting your rejection." She had nothing to do but condone the refusal. She anticipated it and was no longer astounded when the Alpha did it. At least she took her fate. To be rescinded by everyone. Nikky was tired of it, and she wanted a change. She desired improvement in her so-called precious life but didn't know how and when to start. She let destiny guide her to someone, to finally have her wolf. She still had high hopes. However, a day would come when Nikky's faith altered when she met a sacred wolf who appeared before her. 'I am a sacred wolf, for I am an offspring of the moon Goddess and the God.' "So you don't have a host? How come it was me?" Nikky inquired, perplexed by her discovery. She had no idea how it happened to be her, as hundreds were better than Nikky. 'Simple, and it's because I chose you.' The wolf said. '......Nikky.

Chapter 1

The sound of lashing and my continued sobbing filled the quiet room. The silver whip is slashing my back as I lie on the icy ground. Nonetheless, I had no choice but to put up with all of this. 'More wounds to heal, more tears to shed, and more pain to bear.' I laughed. I did my best not to react to the whip I was constantly given. Besides, I'm used to being in this situation. But then the last hit, which grazed the side of my left breast, made me groan so loudly. "Fuck it, just stop!" I yelled as I noticed blood dripping from my skin. "And who taught you to argue with me and raise your voice!? You wolfless creature have no right to do such things!" As he lands another set of blows on my skin, the person who was beating me says. Even if I don't have a wolf, I'm still a werewolf, and I'm used to their cruelty and the pain they cause my body. But there are times when I wish things could be different for me. "Sorry, but it's just too painful... Please leave me alone with my body. I've had enough, and all I want is a normal life." My emotions began to overflow. I can't help but express what's on my mind. "Oh, you poor thing! Dumbass! Do you think I'll feel sorry for you because of your acting? No way, no how! A strange creature does not deserve a normal life!" He yelled, so close to my face that his saliva landed on my ripped skin. Then there was another beating. I cried because of the physical and emotional pain he caused. I can't believe I'm going through this in his hands, in their hands, actually. "I know I'm getting up later than usual, but that's because you gave me too much work yesterday. After all, I am still a member of this family. You don't have to—" He never let me finish what I was saying. He immediately grabbed my neck, making it difficult for me to breathe. "Stop the nonsense! I'm not interested in hearing from you!" Then he smacked me down on the filthy floor. "And no, you are not a member of our family!" Those words pierced me to the core. I chose to remain silent. I'm pretty sure this conversation will go nowhere. "You lazy ass, learn to get up earlier next time! Is that understood? Or do you want me to keep doing this to you?" The person wielding the whip yelled at me, loud and deafening. I continued to be silent. He's nasty and completely cruel. I had no idea he was capable of such venomous hatred. He grunted and walked away, followed by another man who stood by and watched. I came to a complete stop, expecting him to assist me, but he did not. Who would even think of assisting someone like me? My brother, relatives, or other pack members would frequently come over to physically harm me out of rage. Yes, they hurt me by venting their rage over things I didn't even know about. I cried and cried until I was used to their antics. And this is something that happens every morning of my life. I remained silent. I never grumble. But now that he's reached rock bottom, I'm speaking up. Too much pain, too much torture, simply too much—and I am exhausted; my body, mind, and heart. Every day, I am accustomed to waiting for them to beat me because I know it is their way of expressing their unending rage and anger. I know my life is miserable. When I realized that crying would not help the situation, I decided to stop crying and making noises. Why am I being tortured in this manner? I was unable to shift when I was thirteen, and my so-called family disowned me as a result. The pack then mimicked their movements. In the werewolf civilization, young pups must shift at the age of thirteen. It's a werewolf trait, and unfortunately, I was the first to live without a wolf. Since then, all I've gotten is pain, curses, and degrading words that have continued to hurt me to my bones. My own father regards me as repulsive. My mother wished she had never had me. My brother is not pleased that I am his sister. I'm an unwanted member of our pack. In the eyes of others, I am nothing more than an insane, crazy, and strange being. Every day, I was subjected to a barrage of slurs, to which I had grown accustomed. That evening, my family insulted me for the first time, and they have never stopped reminding me of who I was since. Their voices never leave any part of my mind... Nothing hurt me more than how they said those words. I didn't try to ignore the blood on the ground this time. I let it flow as I stare at it intently. I sighed nervously and stood up to take a look around my room, which is almost like a prison. It was dark, dusk, filthy, and lonely. Each stride left a trail of blood on the ground, which also dripped from my back. Eris, my brother, hurt me even more at that point. Nonetheless, I did not whimper in pain. Before I stopped feeling anything, I was abused and tortured for five years. I always choose to bear the pain they inflict on me and do my best to ignore and not feel it. Every time I felt the pain of a seeker, especially from them, I would do this automatically; I would do my best to ignore and not feel. I tried cutting my fingers with shattered glass to feel anything, but there was never any pain or sensation. I was and still am a dead being to this pack. Most abused werewolves, I'm sure, will flee or commit suicide, but I never have and never will. My friend was the only thing that kept me alive in this place. Him. This is my second half. I'm bracing myself for his rejection. I'm expecting him to reject me. Every werewolf who is blessed with a mate is fortunate, but I am not because Samson is my mate. He has no idea that I was meant to be his. I knew he was my mate when I was 16 years old. Despite the fact that it perplexed me because I didn't have a wolf. Furthermore, werewolves find their mate at the age of 18, but I had found mine two years earlier. How did I discover this? I was completely smitten by him. He triggered an intense attraction in me that I couldn't explain. My heart would occasionally race when I saw him because of his antics. Other times, I'd feel a strong dislike for him that I couldn't put my finger on. He also had this distinct scent. His odor would alert me when he was nearby. But what makes me so certain that he will reject me as his mate? He adores Cindy, my perfect and ideal sister. They've been dating for quite some time. Samson's parents thought these two were a perfect match, and Cindy was the ideal future luna. Isn't it wonderful? I'm confident that under duress, he'll label her as his luna sooner or later. They are expected to succeed the Nightcrawler Pack's current Alpha and Luna. I could see dead brown eyes staring back at me through the mirror. It was my father, and he appeared to be passing judgment on my thin, pale, damaged, and battered skin. This part of me that was once so vibrant, smooth, and delicate. I was distracted and didn't hear Cindy calling out to me "Nikky, you're a jerk! What the hell happened to you?! How come you didn't even iron my shirt?!" "Coming!" I exclaimed, ignoring the pain I was in. Hello, my name is Nikky, and welcome to my strangely unhappy life.

Chapter 2

I quickly cleaned myself in the river next to the woods, making sure no other members of the pack could see me. Following that, I made my way to the pack house, dodging disgusted, mocking, and hostile looks. Some mothers even advised their puppies to avoid me. Examples include: "She wasn't normal; she didn't have a wolf!" "She's a threat! Avoid her at all costs, my child." "She's such an oddball. Annie, stay away from her!" And a slew of insults from my own pack. But why is that? Did I injure them? No. Did they injure me? Indeed. Emotional distress. But now I've decided to ignore each of their judging stares. Instead of ignoring the looks, the hurt, the hatred, and everything else, my younger self would have crept up to a corner and sobbed. Thank goodness I made the right decision and eventually learned how to deal with them. I overheard a familiar group of females chatting as I went through the pack house's back entrance to begin my morning tasks. "Oh god," "I can't wait for Samson to make me his luna!" said a familiar voice. Cindy, my older sister, called. She's back, telling her friends how the future alpha found his partner—her—and how they'd attend the evening's mating ceremony together. Sure, she enjoys boasting. "Cindy, you are one lucky girl. You deserved it, with your intelligence and beauty. In contrast to you..." One of her friends said, obviously wanting me to hear what she was saying. Her brows furrowed as she looked at me. "Oh, please! Don't ever compare me to that lady. A diamond should not be compared to charcoal." They all laugh after Cindy says that. The Alpha bloodline and the Alpha himself would find their mate at the age of eighteen. When her other friends noticed me, the conversation came to a halt. Disgust, scorn, and disdain immediately followed laughter, joy, and delight. When they saw me, every facial emotion on their faces changed from joy to sadness. "The charcoal is gone," one of them says. "What a scumbag." Another person stated. "Totally! A walking pile of garbage!" Cindy elaborated. "Don't forget my laundry, you worthless freak!" she yelled as she walked past me. Everyone in her group, especially Diamond, who was once my best friend, looked at us with disgust, as if we were strangers who hadn't shared secrets before. "Cindy, I'm on my way to do that. You don't need to insult me because I'm already aware of my flaws and imperfections "I muttered something. But, of course, my sister overheard it and never let it go. "I can say whatever I want to you, and you have to accept it because it was nothing but facts!" she said, roughly pulling my hair. She then abruptly let go of me. I'd have to finish all of my chores before the evening ceremony, which included laundry, washing, cleaning, scrubbing, and dusting. So I walked away, carrying Cindy's laundry basket as if nothing had happened. Time had passed, and I had continued to work... "That idiot will undoubtedly infect the foods with her germs and dirt! Mom, I don't want that to happen!" Cindy was complaining to our beloved mother, and I overheard her. Maybe future lunas are really that picky about the food they eat. "I know. She's repulsive and does not deserve to be here "Mom responded. I kept working while ignoring their scathing remark and stares. I laughed in my head. How in the world do they manage to physically and mentally abuse someone? How could this be, when I, too, was a member of this pack? ** The celebration began about an hour ago. This came with the recognition of the Nightcrawler Pack's new alpha and luna. 'I am aware of your feelings...' 'He had already rejected you, right?' 'Huh? Who was he? Strange voice in my head.' I thought, but then shrugged. Regardless, the voice was correct. I was rejected even before this celebration began... It happened while I was on my way out of one of the pack house rooms. I was only supposed to clean another room at the time. Samson noticed me as he walked through the alpha's office. His expression showed a wide range of emotions. After learning that I was his mate, he was filled with resentment, contempt, and disgust. "This is not acceptable, Nikky! I don't want you as a friend!" His voice was shrill, filled with rage and horror. "I get it... If you must, reject me." I vowed in my head. "Cindy is my partner and future luna, not you! Nikky, I refuse to accept you as my destined mate." He spoke without hesitation or warning. "Alpha, you are correct. I will accept your rejection." I fought the urge to scream inside at his hurtful words. He then walked right past me. I did the same thing. I walked away, pretending nothing had happened. I moved aside to allow him to pass and curtsied. This was something I expected to happen. I was already bracing myself for his rejection from the first word he said. Furthermore, because he has alpha blood coursing through his veins, he has the right to choose another mate immediately after rejecting me. Second mates are the chosen mates. The Moon Goddess bestowed that blessing on the alpha bloodline. That could happen only if I were dead. I was the first werewolf to be rejected, as well as the first werewolf without a wolf. I entered the storage facility and knelt to retrieve my sleeping bag and clothes. My only set of bed clothes. Well, I have very few clothes because my family previously set fire to my belongings. My clothes are all worn out, and I only have two pairs of jeans and shirts, a few pairs of underwear, a robe, and sleeping clothes. Worst of all, in order for me to continue using these, I must sew them repeatedly to repair the damage. To avoid aggravating my back injury, I changed into my sleeping clothes and slept on the sleeping bag. I'll be washing my clothes by the nearby river tomorrow. ** The pack members' joy and excitement about their new Alpha and Luna could be heard. I'm sure if I were the Luna, they wouldn't treat me the same way. They might even suggest Cindy as the Luna. Because Samson and I are true mates who were not chosen, our bond will deteriorate slightly but not completely. Cindy and his true mate will suffer the same fate. Because my sister didn't recognize their relationship, he would need to bond with someone else. I'd be lying if I said I didn't envy Cindy for getting what she wants. She is loved and respected by her family. Pack members, and my mate's devotion is now directed toward her rather than toward me. I don't have anything, and she has everything I've ever desired. But I had to face the realities of life. And I have no choice but to go with the flow and deal with everything. Besides, even if I cry blood, nothing will change. As my hair swung over my eyes, I turned to the small window to my side. I was lying on my sleeping bag, staring at the full moon. The moon had never failed to bring me comfort. When I look at it, all of my melancholy thoughts fade away. Later on, the aroma of the woods greeted my nose. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the beautiful night. When I opened my eyes to look at the moon again, something moved in the corner of my eye. I stood up to get a better look and figure out what it was, but the object moved quickly and entered an area where the ground was illuminated by the moon. The moonlight stopped moving toward my window in pursuit of it when it turned to look directly down at me. I realized this wasn't even a thing. I kept staring at it, thinking how familiar it was—a very familiar creature in werewolf territory. 'Is that even conceivable?' As I observed the size of the creature in front of my window, I reflected. 'It is! Why shouldn't it be?' The abrupt, deep voice in my head startled me. In response to what I did, my head laughed. I came to a halt because there was only me and this large creature present. I looked up at it again, puzzled as to how a wolf larger than an alpha could exist. I'd never felt so inadequate in my life. 'When I'm around, you don't tremble or feel the desire to give in.' In my mind, I kept hearing the same voice. 'You are the one, and I know it!' I kept my mouth shut and just stared at the wolf that was looking down at me and talking to itself. 'You are the other half I was looking for,' the wolf continued in my head. 'I finally tracked you down.' "What is your name?" For the first time, I spoke in its presence. "How come I'm not afraid of a Nightcrawler Pack unknown wolf?" I'm still perplexed. 'I am your wolf—specifically, your sacred wolf.' When the wolf spoke, it took my attention away from my thoughts.

Chapter 3

When my nightmare and all the painful things began to happen in my life here at Nightcrawler Pack, I wished and hoped for my own wolf. I kept dreaming, hoping that a miracle would happen to me one day. But I stopped sooner. I gave up and accepted that my wish would never be fulfilled. It will never be realized. It is my life's reality. But now that my desire has come true, what should I do? When a wolf unexpectedly claimed me as its host, I was perplexed. After all, don't wolves and werewolves share a common ancestor? Why is the wolf who claims to be mine not inside me? Furthermore, because of its unusual eye color and fur, I'm unsure whether to call this animal a wolf or a beast. I might not have noticed the wolf strolling toward me, exposing its appearance, if it hadn't been for the moonlight. It had glistening black fur that blended into the darkness. Apart from that, it had gleaming red eyes that resembled blood. All wolves, including alphas and other dominant members of a pack, have golden eyes and varying colors of white, grey, or brown fur. As a result, this wolf is unique. "What exactly do you mean? A holy wolf?" I mumbled something. "What exactly was it?" I wondered as I continued to watch the red-eyed wolf. 'I am a sacred wolf because I am the offspring of the moon goddess and the lycan god,' it said again in my mind. Prior to that night, when everything was normal, I had researched other species such as vampires, lycans, witches, and other beings. Being abused kept me from getting a werewolf education. Regardless, I had no idea the moon goddess and the lycan god had had a child. "So you're without a host? How did it happen to be me?" Perplexed by this discovery, I inquired. Sincerity be damned, I have no idea where this courage is coming from, knowing that I am speaking to an unusual, and somewhat frightening-looking wolf. At the very least, it wasn't a rogue. 'It's simple, and it's because I chose you,' she says. The wolf spoke up. I was speechless, possibly because the red-eyed wolf was speaking to me in my head as it stood there like a statue staring down at me. "So, are you a lycan or a wolf?" I asked again, remembering what it said about being the offspring of the moon goddess and the lycan god. 'Both,' said the wolf in response. I kept silent and just stared at its majestic form. How can I be certain that this beast didn't pick me at random? I reasoned that because the entire confession didn't seem true to me, "I mean, I'm frail. Nobody wants to pick me. Nobody has ever dared to want me." The thought of an odd beast claiming to be mine makes me feel foolish because I am the weakest member of the Nightcrawler Pack... or, to put it another way, the entire werewolf community. 'Stop!' The wolf abruptly cried out. I groaned because its voice was so loud. 'Do not describe yourself as weak! It was never a mistake to choose you!' Outside, the beast snarled menacingly while sternly speaking in my head. "But," I grumbled. 'We are all one. As I previously stated, you are both my host and my partner. Please stop second-guessing yourself. You are deserving.' Sure, the wolf was attempting to calm my nerves. 'I've known about you, the moon goddess, and the lycan god since your birth. Our parents created you for me. You were mine, and that's why you've never had a wolf.' The wolf went on. The other two are gods, whereas the first two are average. My family consists of four parents. But, given their treatment of me, I doubt they still regard me as their child. "Why are you calling me right now? Why don't you live inside me from the start?" With a scowl, I inquired. 'Because of my power, you were too young to contain and control me at the time, but you are now mature enough. You're mature enough to have me. The gods had sealed my fate. I've spoken to others, but you are the first of your generation.' The creature raised its voice. "Sealed? What exactly do you mean?" I inquired. 'Yes, I was sealed. I am more powerful than my parents, and I require the services of a host to manage my abilities.' "I don't get it," I puzzledly asked. 'I was created many years ago by the lycan god and moon goddess. I was strong, but I didn't have a host, or a partner, to speak of. Someone should rule over a wolf like me. My lack of one was the reason I was secretly sealed. The moon goddess and the lycan god decided to keep my identity hidden. But I wasn't a secret anymore. When other supernatural gods learned about me, they decided to end my life, but they were unable to do so. They couldn't handle my terrifying and powerful abilities. As a result, they decided to find hosts to command me. Each god created his or her own host. But as I got closer to any of them, they all died or surrendered to me. When it was the moon goddess' turn to create, she chose not to include a wolf. And you are the chosen one. The one who will not perish or surrender in front of me. And because I am half lycan, the lycan god will bestow his bloodline on me to serve as a link between the lycans and you.' The explanation was lengthy, as was the silence. "But why is this the case now? And since you mentioned knowing me, I'm guessing you're aware that our mate has already rejected us?" I inquired, breaking the silence. 'He's not my pal.' The wolf responded quickly. I was taken aback by what she said, and the beast looked perplexed. 'Any supernatural being could be my mate. I am aware of Samson and your sister, and I am disgusted by them.' Because of what the wolf said, I can't help but recall my intense dislike for Samson. Was this due to the wolf? 'Always remember that you are not weak. You are more powerful than everyone else, and even more powerful than I am. You put up with the abusive pack for so long, and despite being rejected, you didn't kill yourself. I expected to be too late, but thank God I wasn't. Pay attention to what I'm saying; you're as strong as you are. You are powerful whether you have a wolf or not.' I sensed a glimmer of hope, a glimmer of strength in the depths of my heart's darkness. I wanted to cry when I heard those words. For the first time, someone believed in me and supported me. I've been waiting for those words for how long? Who would have guessed it would come from a wolf—my wolf—rather than anyone else? I knew deep down that I, too, deserved to be loved. 'Nikky, you are strong. You are powerful. You are stronger when you are with me, and we are the strongest when we are together.' I nodded, dabbing my tears with my calloused hands. The beast makes an excellent point. I am the only one who requires my assistance. Someone offered me comfort for the first time in a long time. Even though this creature wasn't there for me when things got tough, it gave me something invaluable. "I've made my decision. I'm going to run away." As my fists formed into a ball, I said. This is something I've always wanted to do. To flee my gruesome past, I ran away. I desired to depart and forge a new identity. I want a better future, which I won't be able to have if I stay here. I asked the wolf if he would accompany me without saying anything. After bending its large head forward, it quickly placed its large forehead against mine. I closed my eyes in delight at the unexpected encounter. "What a nice feeling," I remarked. 'I shall always be within you,' the beast's voice said to me. 'Do not oppose my existence, Nikky,' something entered my body. Something was going on in my body, particularly in my mind. It lingered in my recollections and ideas, like a good memory. When I opened my eyes, the room's window was already empty, as if the dark beast that had been there moments before had been a dream. My attention was drawn to my body due to a sting on my back. I winced at the sensation. I could feel the slices of the silver whip closing up. Wounds on my arm that had previously opened were suddenly closing as if they had never existed. The aroma of the forest and the smell of dirt took my attention away from the wounds. I noticed that the smell of the trees was stronger than before. But I was taken aback by what I saw. My physical appearance... My brown eyes had turned a brilliant violet. My lifeless, drab black hair became shiny and vibrant. I swung my body from left to right and noticed that I wasn't in any pain. 'You inherited the lycan god's bloodline. That's why your appearance has changed.' The beast spoke to me in my dreams. I couldn't help but pause when I realized the wolf had already taken up residence within me. The beast then reminded me of the ceremony, so I went there right away. Later, I heard a round of applause. 'I guess it's time to leave this place,' I thought as I walked away from the mirror and toward the double doors. I took a step back and a step forward toward the adventure of my new life. Of course, I never failed to look at the moon. Before I set out to run the pack's border trail, I heard Samson's father say, "Nightcrawler Pack, here's to your new Alpha and Luna!" This is the end of the Nightcrawler Pack. I fled to my new life.

Chapter 4

When I hesitated, my fist was millimeters away from hitting the punching bag. As I exhaled raggedly, my chest heaved from exhaustion. I shifted my gaze away from the punching bag and toward the clock on the other side of the wall. It was only seven o'clock in the morning, but I had been working out since four. I decided to do this because I was having trouble sleeping. The voices and the dreams... they never leave me. They're still with me. I straightened up and gave Leonard a blank look. I noticed him looking at me right away. "You know what, Nikky? Everyone now fears you. All of the packs we've trained, including their alphas, are terrified of your strength "He chuckled before turning his light blue gaze to the clock. I ignored him and removed the boxing gloves from my fists. I moved away from the punching bag and over to the bench where my bottle of water was. "Nikky, did you have another nightmare?" he asked as he sat beside me. He appeared to be very concerned. I gave Leonard a look to let him know that, yes, I was having another nightmare. "Do you mean them?" He asked, his gaze fixed on mine. "Yes." This guy really knows how to read me. "You're aware that there is therapy in the pack, but I can't make you go, and I know you won't." He sighed, as if expecting it. "Not even your father can make you." He went on. I now have an adoptive father and a much better family. "I told you I didn't need it," I said as I stood up to stretch my muscles, bending backward to stretch my abs and forward to stretch my back. "There you go again with your monotonous voice! Because of this, the pack members fear you! That, I believe, is also why you don't have any friends." Leonard screamed. "I don't need friends or approval from anyone. I've got Beatrice, my father, and you. And, to be honest, that's all I need." I adjusted my posture and said. "I know, but don't you want someone to cling to when the night is cold?" Leonard started teasing me. "Shut up or I'll punch your face," I jokingly threatened. He really enjoys teasing me about my mate and finding the one. He then raised both of his hands in surrender to me "Please be gentle with me, sis. You already know that all I want to see is you happy and... in love!" He immediately fled after saying those final words. I sighed and laughed at his actions. I haven't seen Nightcrawler Pack in five years. I was able to stop being abused and tortured five years later. I became one with my fearful wolf, Serenity, after Samson rejected me. It's been five years since the Knights found me unconscious in the woods. I've been a member of their family for five years. Then, three years ago, I became the best pack warrior and trainer in the werewolf community, earning the moniker 'The Sanguinex,' a Latin word for 'bloodlust.' And it's been two years since the supernatural community first became aware of my existence. I gained the status of a sacred entity thanks to Leonard, and I began to understand the benefits and drawbacks of my ability. Werewolves have superhuman strength, speed, and vision. My unusual existence, on the other hand, has more to offer. Leonard has tried to make me less aloof and fearful. In the werewolf community, my name is associated with violence, rage, and fear. Everyone is afraid of me. Only the Mountain Black Pack has seen me in my wolf form because I don't shift. I fight in my human form. My wolf genes provide my strength, speed, and vision in the absence of Serenity's abilities. Everyone knew I could fight rogues viciously without the help of my beast. All of this would not be possible without the Knights' assistance. My adoptive father, Elder Lionel White, and Leonard discovered me unconscious in the Mountain Black Pack's perimeter. It had been a month since I had left the Nightcrawler Pack at the time. I don't have any supplies of food or clothing with me. The Nightcrawler Pack had left me hungry, so my body was weak. I was traveling with Serenity's assistance when I passed out one day. Despite the fact that Serenity is a scared wolf, my body is incapable of withstanding her strength. Lionel and Leonard drove me to the pack hospital, where I was finally treated. One month later, I awoke. Serenity claimed that my body was too frail and had grown accustomed to her presence. The pack saw no danger in me. Even if I am, death will quickly become my friend. The Mountain Black Pack is the dominant pack in werewolf society. That's because the people who live here are the werewolf community's elders. They make the rules that werewolves must follow in society. There is nothing else like it. They have only trained men as fighters. My adoptive mother, Beatrice, is the only female in the pack. She is not my father's friend. Her father and she are siblings. Leonard's biological mother died during his birth. Dad and Leonard did not inquire about my identification, instead claiming that I was deceased and lacked motivation. They let me stay in the pack because I had nowhere else to go, and I gratefully accepted. They provided me with a comfortable room and food. Serenity remained silent at the time, stating that she wanted me to make my own discoveries and that she wanted to know if the Moon Goddess had sent her the right person. I was dying quietly. But then Serenity assured me that she would always be inside of me. I knew I needed Serenity to help me fix my life after regaining all of my strength. I reclined on the unexpectedly comfortable bed. My sleeping bag, I suppose, became a part of me. I heard footsteps outside the door before getting out of bed. I greeted him cheerfully. Elder Lionel White was the person who assisted me along the way. He gave me a serious look as he spoke the words that would change my life forever. "Are you going to give up?" I gave him an uneasy look. "Those scars on your body are evidence of abuse; you successfully fled your abuser, but why do you appear to be about to give up now?" His candor astounded me. Even though my sacred wolf had healed my wounds, I was aware that they could still see the scars on my body. The scars will remain in place as a reminder of my past. "I'm not sure what happened to you, but if you want to exact vengeance on them, I can show you how. I can assist you." I was an intruder who hadn't seen him since the hospital, but he promised to train me. He's willing to assist me. "Why?" I asked, my voice weak and cracked, tears streaming down both sides of my eyes. "You reminded me of my wife so much. She is in the same boat as you." Elder Lionel sighed deeply after saying that. "Allow me to assist you in starting over, Nikky. Nothing is too late for you," He kept going, holding both of my hands. I saw sincerity in him. I accepted the offer, and we began training. He served as my father and continues to do so. Leonard and I became close during training, developing a relationship that felt like a real family. Despite the fact that I don't show my emotions to them or anyone else besides Serenity, they can read me very well. They introduced me to Beatrice, who took over as my mother. I even celebrated my first birthday with them outside Nightcrawler Pack. This family is the best gift I've ever received. Until that day, I hadn't smiled in a long time, let alone a happy smile. They took me in as their own. Aside from my father and Beatrice, I was introduced to other seniors. Elder Paul and Elder Ruby are their names. Elder Ruby and I are diametrically opposed. She made it abundantly clear when she discovered I was the daughter of a beta who couldn't shift on the first day we met. She frequently used that to make fun of me. When Elder Ruby approached me, I was practicing the new skills Lionel had shown me on the training grounds with a few warriors who were training independently. She is more attentive to me than Elder Paul. She enjoys making fun of the fact that I can't shift, oblivious to the beast watching her from within me. Why isn't she just leaving me alone? I thought, irritably adding to my ideas. I choose to ignore her while trying to recall what Lionel was doing before leaving to get something. "Why are you still alive if you can't shift at your current age? After all, who would want a frail, non-shifting she-wolf? I don't understand Lionel's desire for you." I took a deep breath and straightened up to focus on the action. Serenity was yelling, screaming, and growling at the elder every second of my mind. In an attempt to calm her rage, I inhale and exhale. "Nikky, did the Moon Goddess create such a monster that you had to flee to your home? You're such a useless creature!" She had gone too far. Serenity wanted to fight because it was too far. She's already choking on the tight grip of my hand. "Nikky!" Beatrice and Leonard both mentioned my name. I didn't even hear them arrive because I was so enraged. Despite my best efforts to loosen my grip on the elder, I ended up tightening it even more. Agony was written all over her pale face. "You're going to kill her, Nikky!" Leonard yelled at me, yanking my arm away. I didn't take my gaze away from the elderly man who was struggling to breathe. To be honest, I loved how terrified she seemed to be in my presence. "Allow her to go. It's pointless to do so." Lionel stated. He is right. Leonard and Beatrice turned to me when they noticed my hold on her neck had loosened. "Next time this happens, I promise it'll be worse," I threatened Ruby in a harsh, guttural voice. Then I abandoned her on the ground, stranded and lost. My eyes turned red, indicating that Leonard was in charge in part. I turned to look at everyone before passing out and noticed the terror and confusion in their eyes. On that day, Lionel and the pack learned about Serenity. My family respected my decision to keep her in the dark, even though they disagreed with it. My family and the warriors treated me normally, and they also helped me learn how to deal with Serenity easily. ** "Are you taking notes?" Leonard screamed. I admitted that I had completely lost focus during our conversation. "Are you okay?" He gave me a worried expression. I nodded to assuage his fears. He shot me a quick glance before taking a deep breath and moving on. "I'm sure you know I adore you, Nikky." I'm not sure where the conversation will go, so I simply nod. I continued to listen without interrupting him "And you are the second-best thing that has happened to me since my mother's death. I just want you to know that whether you're my biological sister or not, Dad, Beatrice, and I all adore you. You are extremely important to us." Since I told my father, Leonard, and Beatrice about my abuse, Leonard has assured me that he is not like Eris. That is evident. Leonard and I are like twins, despite being three years apart in age. Despite not being blood relatives, we have a close relationship similar to that of siblings. He keeps an eye on me while I'm in training and stays by my side when my dreams become too vivid. Serenity also loves and accepts him. "You will always be my big brother, blood related or not," I told him sincerely. He looked at my eyes and was struck by how delicate they were. I treasure my adoptive family. "What happened?" I stretched before sitting down and asking Leonard. I was aware that he was having difficulties. He averted his gaze and seemed tense before fumbling with his fingers and murmuring, "here goes nothing," which I picked up on. "A pack will be trained the following week." He gave me a suspicious look. "OK," I said, puzzled as to why it took him so long to explain when it is our responsibility. I could tell his face was becoming paler. Why is he scared? "We're training them," mumbled he. "Who?" I inquired. "The Moon Pack at Midnight."

Chapter 5

I knew the day would come when I would have to see them again. I just hope this doesn't have a negative impact on me. After all, they're the ones responsible for my demons, scars, and gruesome past. However, we clearly cannot have it all in this life. While waiting for Leonard to respond, I asked, "When?" while looking forward. His gaze was drawn to the side of my face, as if he was trying to figure out what I was thinking. "I don't know, but the elders told me to let you know," he admitted truthfully. When I heard that, I got up from my bench and grabbed my boxing gloves before leaving the gym. "You know I can train them in your place," Leonard said as he blocked my path and grabbed my shoulders. "The pack must always come first," I said as I met his gaze. "Of course I am aware of that, Nikky. But I'm sure you realize I'm just concerned about you. I mean, you'll have to confront them, your past... and I'm not—" "It is my responsibility," I interrupted Leonard before he could finish his sentence. Even after I pushed his hands away from my shoulders and sidestepped him, he persisted. He obstructed my path once more. I frowned and looked at him, thinking irritably that this was starting to irritate me. "Leonard, let me go," I said with a deadly glare. He turned to face me and remained motionless, still trying to persuade me that I didn't have to face my previous pack. "I won't be held accountable for my actions," I growled lowly at him. That was, indeed, a warning. Leonard is well aware that I have the worst temper when it comes to pack training. He is aware that when I accepted this responsibility, I promised to help any werewolf pack in need for any reason. I am a pack trainer and fighter, as well as one of the best in the supernatural realm and werewolf society. My past will not hold me back. When he realized I wasn't joking, he looked defeated. "Are you going to be okay?" He asked a serious question. "Without a doubt. I'm perfectly fine. Even if I had to confront my former family, nothing would change. Leonard, you and Beatrice and Dad are now part of my family. They are no longer my relatives since the day they punished me with their own hands. I don't consider them to be one." He appeared to be almost satisfied with my response. "What about him?" he inquired. Him. As I stared at Leonard, I was thinking incoherently. When he noticed my puzzled expression, he clarified, "Samson, you're supposed to be mate." Samson, of course. In my head, I laughed. How did I manage to forget about my true pal? That jerk has long since faded from my memory. He was now nothing to me. No one can hold it against me if I stop experiencing the mate link. I'm not sure if it still exists, but I'm not getting any feelings or energy from Samson. I used to feel something after his rejection, but not anymore. Nothing. "And what about him? That guy can't do anything. Remember how he preferred my sister to me? Why would I allow him to have any effect on me? To be honest, I'm sick of him." I responded. "But will you be okay if you see him and your sister?" Leonard then asks me another question. I looked him in the eyes and said, "Would you be okay if I broke your bone? I've already told you, Leonard, that I'm sick of him." Nothing beats them seeing me as someone strong and independent, unlike the girl they used to abuse and punish. When I replied, Leonard gave me a satisfied look. He then gave me assurance and comfort "If anything happens, please contact me. Please notify me, and I will be there." I smiled at his thoughtfulness. He assisted me in defeating my demons. Aside from Serenity, I drew a lot of my strength from them as well. My household. They gave me a house—or, more accurately, a home. Nothing, not my background, not my original family, will ever be able to replace them. In the mirror, I see full black hair with a few white strands, vibrant violet eyes, and pale skin with light scarring. My past and present have scarred every inch of my body. But Beatrice made sure I ate three times a day for the first two years of my Mountain Black Pack residency. She was right when she said I was bony. They truly starved me, but the Knights saved my life. And now I have a fit and lean physique. Regardless, I have to tell myself that my real family brought me to my current family—the family I always wanted to have—whether they were blood relatives or not. Even now, when I'm alone and silent in the Mountain Black Pack, words from that night reverberate in my head. The fact that some things happen for a reason—good or bad—does not excuse their behavior, and I will teach them how to mistreat and torture others solely by using themselves. Despite my previous promise not to exact vengeance, I still intend to teach them a lesson. Some lessons that might make them realize how much harm they have caused me. After all, confronting my past is not as terrifying as confronting those lethal rogues, which I have done numerous times. Those mindless beings encourage me to slaughter whatever comes my way. Before walking away, I took a few more looks in the mirror. Then I put on a black leather jacket. I left my room to go to the courtroom of the elders, where all the alphas meet the elders. Even though I could always meet with Leonard and force him to take over training my previous pack, doing so would expose my weakness. I despise frailty. I vowed to Serenity that I would never be frail. I put in a lot of effort to get this job, so I'm not going to give it up because of them. Before opening the massive golden doors for me, the guards on the sides bowed their heads in awe. I took a deep breath before entering the room for another session. I said, 'Serenity,' using mindlink. 'Yes?' My wolf quickly responded. 'What do you think is causing all of this to happen? My life has been fine and peaceful without them. So, why did fate take this unexpected turn?' I let go. I feel so at ease asking my wolf questions that have been bothering me. 'I'm not sure either, Nikky. But one thing is certain: you must continue. Continue until you figure out why this is happening.' Serenity is correct. I need to figure out why Moon Goddess is leading me back to my past.

Chapter 6

As I walked into the courtroom, the echoing sound of my black, thick, suede shoes clicking against the tiled floor reverberated throughout the space. I was aware of the way in which I captured the attention of each and every person. I kept my strength, height, and an intimidating posture while I observed the people who were in the room. Dad and Beatrice are two of the four seniors who are seated at the high table in the front, which has four guards standing on either side of them. Simply by raising my eyebrows, I asked Elder Ruby to explain the reason why I ought to be here in the first place. Almost immediately, she grasped what I meant by saying that. Now, my relationship with this elder is one that is very formal in nature. Taking into consideration the incident from that day, in which I came dangerously close to killing her, she became extremely disciplined around me. She avoided talking to me unless it was absolutely necessary, like when we were in court. It's highly likely and absolutely certain that she was still terrified of me. Elder Ruby passed a folder to a security officer, and the officer then passed it to me. There are reports and maps regarding the rogue attack that was carried out by the alpha of the Nightcrawler Pack contained within the papers that are contained within the folder. "You need to get to the bottom of the problem." It seemed to me that she was using a more formal tone. I acknowledged her with a nod and kept my attention fixed on her while I re-filed the documents inside the folder. After that, I directed my attention to the seasoned person who was seated next to her. Before continuing, Elder Paul made the following remark to the group: "I know you don't need me to tell you that something weird is happening." "Every day, the scoundrels amass more strength and add more members to their ranks. I have put a lot of effort into determining the cause of their rising population, but to no avail. The Nightcrawler Pack has been attacked by them on three separate occasions. They almost give off the impression that they are looking for something. When a group of rogues attacks a pack of werewolves, they almost always go straight for the kill because there is no second chance. Nevertheless, when they attacked the Nightcrawler Pack, they did not kill anyone; rather, they struck three times in rapid succession as if they were waiting for something. This gave the impression that they were looking for something." Elder Paul paused for a moment and then continued speaking after taking a deep breath. I kept my mouth shut and continued to pay attention. He concluded by saying, "Within the Nightcrawler Pack, find out what's going on and let us know as soon as possible," to which I nodded in agreement before bowing and departing. Elder Ruby called out my name just as I was about to walk out of the double doors, and I immediately stopped. I came to a stop in the middle of my walk and turned to face her. "Don't kill anyone," she cautioned me as I looked in her direction. We were engulfed in utter silence at that point. After that, I gave her a smirk and sneered in an icy manner before turning my full back to the more senior person and saying, "I am sorry, but I cannot make any promises to you. When I am given the opportunity, I go on the offensive. If it were necessary for me to kill, I certainly would. And there was a significant possibility that I might end up murdering someone because it was my hometown, my history, and my worst nightmare all rolled into one "I remarked as I walked away from her while simultaneously turning my back on her. "But Nikky—" I stopped talking to her. "Silence Elder Ruby. Let me have a sane trip, "I responded while keeping my back to her. "You shouldn't be as concerned as you are right now. I am a killer, but I only do it when it's absolutely necessary." I continued. I loaded all of my belongings into the car that was provided to me for the duration of this trip. When I was about to close the door, my attention was drawn to Dad, Beatrice, and Leonard. For a variety of reasons, I've decided to bring Leonard along with me on this mission. The first goal is to assist me in taming my explosive temper and rage. The second objective is to prevent my monster, Serenity, from showing up at inappropriate times. And finally, to prevent me from killing someone else by any means necessary. Because of the same thing, Elder Ruby and a few other warriors will be traveling with me as well. Beatrice asked me to "please come back safely, honey," as she hugged me and then continued her statement. I wrapped my arms around her and buried my face in the crook of her neck as I hugged her. It is comforting to know that someone will be there to greet you when you get back. It was wonderful to be able to sense the love and care that was provided by those who actually mean it. After releasing her grip and turning around to face me, she said, "Promise me." After that, I responded with the words "I promise." Then I turned my head to the other side to see Lionel. He gave me a pat on the head and then turned to face me while saying, "Until then, my courageous Nikky." The way he behaved made me privately chuckle. The majority of the time, he does it as a sign of his affection. After that, I turned my head to look at Leonard. "It's time to go, brother," I told him. The car was started by a warrior, and it then drove past Beatrice, who was smiling, and Lionel, who was waving. A grin began to appear on my face... a smile that vanished almost instantly as I made my way back to the road that led to my history. I turned around one final time and caught a glimpse of my family from the back. "Are you ready to show them who you really are? Are you prepared to demonstrate to them that the girl they used to control no longer exists in you? I heard Serenity's voice in my head. The hatred that she felt was very clear in the way that she spoke. This beast absolutely still despises my previous family, and I feel the same way about them. The response I got from my wolf made me smile to myself. She desires their blood, and I will slake her thirst tenfold if she has her way. Fuck it. I have the urge to kill.

Chapter 7

Someone with half-blood from two species must be united. All evil will be defeated by a person who is half-blood from two species. The voice is deep and chills my bones, especially when it calls my name... “Nikky.” A god must be a half-blood of two species. That person is far too powerful, far too strong—deserving of rule. 'Who in the world was that? 'From where is this voice coming?' My thoughts were jumbled, and I was unsure of what I had just heard. That someone is undoubtedly more powerful than the creators... I opened my eyes after hearing a strange voice in my dream say, "Nikky," to find my brother Leonard in the left front seat of the car. "Is everything all right?" he wondered. I called several times, but you didn't answer," I could tell he was concerned as I looked into his eyes. Because I can usually respond immediately when my name is called. "Was this another nightmare?" He continued his question without waiting for my response. Another nightmare... I had to think about it for a while before I realized what he meant. My terror; the nightmares that persisted in my mind, nightmares brought on by my previous family. My family's nightmares that I couldn't get out of my head. "I am fine," I finally said, but my voice was shaking. I peered through the window to see if we were already close to our destination. When I saw the familiar yet strange vegetation, I knew we had entered their territory. "Commander, we have arrived in the pack's forest." The guard agreed with my assumption. Elder Ruby's car was visible in the distance. Yes, they are paving the way. In addition, another car was following this one. I leaned back in my seat and covered my brow. "Are you sure everything is okay, Nikky?" Leonard restated his point. I caught his worried expression in the rearview mirror. "Yeah, no need to worry about me," I assured him. I turned my head to look out the car window to see how fast we were moving through the forest. 'Serenity,' I mentally yelled. It's also known as mind-linking. 'The voice from my dream...', Serenity responded immediately. Did you figure out who that voice belonged to? Did you recognize it? 'Did you hear everything he said?' I asked those questions without pausing. 'Nikky, I'm starting to worry. Why are you so affected? Are you sure you're okay? And what voice are you talking about?' Serenity inquired, worried. That has to be incorrect. Serenity didn't hear the voice. How could that be? She is my wolf, so she should be aware of what is going on. “Nevermind. I'm fine. "You don't need to be concerned," I just said before putting her out of my mind. To be honest, I can't get that voice out of my head, especially now that I've realized my beast didn't hear it. Something must be wrong if Serenity did not hear the voice. But now I'm feeling it even more. I sensed trouble as I prepared to confirm by calling Serenity again. Rouges. I'll never forget how it felt to be in their company. Their presence is strong, and I know there are about twenty of them in the forest near the pack's boundary. I called out, "Leonard!" "Where have they gone? We must never lose sight of our objectives." He must have sensed them because he was asking. "I'm sure they're in the woods near the border." I quickly responded. The guard came to a halt in front of the car. Then I immediately got out of it. As I watched them one by one, I could see the rogues in their wolves. They vanished one by one. "Are you all right?" Leonard enquired. I yelled to him as I ran toward the rogues, "I got this! I'll see you at the packhouse, vice-commander." "OK, commander, please take care!" He said as soon as I took off. As the wind caressed my face, I closed my eyes and smiled. My entire body was tingling with excitement. This is happiness. I haven't touched their blood in a long time. I smirked, thinking, 'I hope my prey doesn't let me down.' Then I quickened my pace. There were no guards as I entered the forest's bordering entrance, confirming my suspicion about the Nightcrawler Pack—that it must have been really bad to be here these days. I kept moving while listening to the rogues' heartbeats. I know they're just lurking nearby, ready to strike at any moment. "Don't you realize your heartbeats are too loud? Come out, my dear rogues! Face me!" I muttered, aware that they could hear me. But all I got was silence in response. I crept up behind one of them, dug my palm into his back, and tore out his heart before he could react. "Why would some of you even dare to shift to their host form?" I muttered. Pathetic.” The body with the hole in its back fell to the ground. Everyone heard the loud thud it made. After witnessing one of their own perish, the rogues began to emerge one by one. “What? Did you finally realize that silence isn't the best response?" I threw the heart to the ground and grinned menacingly. I moved forward and stepped on the heart with my black boots. The rogues looked on in horror as I did it, and I was so pleased with their reactions. I didn't care if blood splattered all over my jeans or my shoe. "This is so much better," I said, still staring at the broken heart. I needed their blood to live and to be satisfied. They groaned when I suddenly moved. I could hear their audible gasps. I laughed and took a fighting stance. These demons must be terrified at this point. I had no idea they had senses for fear, terror, and doom. "Come give me some excitement," I bravely challenged them. The rogues attack me one by one. They appeared to be aggressive. Their eyes were yearning for death—my death. 'Crave for it, and I'll give it to each of you!' I smiled to myself. After many hours, I stood looking up at the sky, surrounded by dead rogues with unsavory expressions. Their blood was dripping all over this dead silent forest. I thought I was the only one alive here. My clothes and clawed hands were drenched in blood. Then I closed my eyes in pleasure. "Never thought it'd be this much fun," I exhaled. The wind caressed my skin and made my hair sway. My joy was cut short by a whimper, and I turned to face the man who was about to pass out. I kept this one rogue alive so that I could get answers to all my questions. Then I started asking questions. "What are your plans for this pack? Tell me!" I interrogated the rogue. But all I got was a loud groan in response. I'm sure he's having trouble thinking straight right now. And I'm sure he won't mind if I kill him now. Despite the fact that I enjoy killing and fighting, I am wise enough to leave one person alive. As I approached him, he widened his eyes in fear. I saw how hard he tried to avoid me. "Think twice before conquering more lands. You didn't want this to happen again." I said this while kneeling in front of him, holding his trembling shoulder. Pain was all over his nearly-dead body. I sighed as I swung the nearly-dead rogue onto my shoulder and turned to face the bodies on the ground. "I guess it'll be a long time before all of them decay." Then I walked away, leaving a blood trail in my wake.

Chapter 8

'Are you okay?' Serenity was curious. She undoubtedly witnessed the battle I just won against the rogues. As I stood at the edge of the Nightcrawler Pack, I could feel the border, the dividing line between the pack's beginning and end. I now enter the same land to train them as different and better werewolves, the same land where I used to flee the pain and nightmares—my old and the pack that I abandoned a long time ago. As I returned to my thoughts, I replied to Serenity's question, "Yes, I'm fine." To be honest, I stopped caring about them for a long time. Everyone in here was just a sliver of my memory. They no longer mattered to me, and you can't hate someone you've never cared about. I sighed and moved the unconscious—almost-dead rouge on my shoulder, expecting to be surrounded by pests as a result. I ran into Leonard and many recognizable faces after a thirty-minute walk to the packhouse, including members of my blood family, my ex-mate and his family, old friends, even enemies, and some former pack members. It's been a long time, As I stared at them, I reflected. Yes, I didn't show up right away. As I approached the meeting spot where the Nightcrawler Pack greeted Elder Ruby and the other pack members, I concentrated on their conversation. "Are you the commander and trainer of the pack?" Samson asked my brother, Leonard. He was about to say something when he jerked back. He seemed to have a lot of words to say that he didn't get around to saying. 'Oh shit,' I muttered under my breath in response to Leonard's response. 'Not ever again.' Finally, he musters the courage to speak up "Alpha, you're mistaken. I am not the pack's commander or trainer. The Sanguinex is the one to go with." When he sensed me, Elder Ruby scowled at the alpha, "That's right, he's not the commander, Alpha." Samson appeared perplexed by what Leonard and Elder Ruby were saying. "It was the Sanguinex, as he previously stated. And it was I who invited her." Elder Ruby elaborated further. Samson's eyes widened unexpectedly at the remark. And he wasn't the only one in the Nightcrawler Pack who had that reaction. "Wait, you invited the Sanguinex?" Samson asked again. I'm still perplexed. Elder Ruby stated: "That's correct, Alpha. The strongest and sole survivor." Samson and the elder both expressed their displeasure upon hearing this. "And she is right here, just behind me," Elder Ruby added. She directed her gaze in my direction, causing the others to turn to face me. 'What a fantastic introduction from you, Elder Ruby,' I thought as I moved forward to take Leonard's place. I keep my head up and my movements smooth. Then I turn around to face everyone. I left the nearly lifeless rogue to lie on the hard ground. "I am the Sanguinex," I stated emphatically. The Nightcrawler Pack members were terrified and surprised, but fear was the most visible expression in their eyes. I looked at Samson and said, "I am the rumored Sanguinex, and I will train your pack. I looked like this because I had just fought a quick battle with the rogues. Sorry if I appeared disorganized. Don't worry, I killed every single one of them. With the exception of this one." When I was done speaking, I turned to Elder Ruby, who nodded in agreement. That's right, I'm bringing in another rogue to question him further. "Nikky…" Samson gave me a familiar expression as I turned in response to the sound of my name. The crowd erupted in gasps as soon as my name was mentioned. "That's correct, Alpha. I'm Nikky, and I'm the Sanguinex. I'm glad you're already aware." I stated unequivocally. My tearful ex-mother quickly approached me after I finished speaking, holding out her arms and saying, "Nikky… I can't believe it's you..." My ex-father also pursued me. I yelled, "Leonard!" My brother intervened immediately to prevent the woman from touching me. He knows exactly what he should have done. She screamed, "Move out of my way and don't touch me! This young lady is my long-lost daughter! We've been looking for you for a long time, Nikky!" Her eyes were filled with tears this time. "Your daughter," I muttered, giving her a blank stare. This woman has got to be kidding me. Where did she get the courage to refer to me as her daughter? Where are they when they never treat me like one? That's hilarious, daughter. When the abuse began years ago, that word was on my wish list. But I don't need to hear it from her or anyone else right now. "I hope you're not mistaking me for someone else," I inquired. "Nikky, of course not! You are my child, and I am your mother! Oh, if you only knew how much I missed you!" She said this as if she was forcing me to believe her words. This is becoming so irritating that I wanted to slap her across the face. "Sanguinex or Ms. Knight are better names for me—not as your daughter, but as a pack trainer, a commande. Please refrain from bothering me. I already have a mother at the Mountain Black Pack who isn't you "I stated calmly. I looked at Samson and said, "Is this how your pack members greet visitors, Alpha? It appears to be strange." The tone of my voice was sarcastic. "Even so, I doubt you'd want your pack to face my wrath," I remarked. I then turned to Elder. Ruby was agitated and completely ignored Samson's presence. The elder appeared to be irritated. "Why did you come if you weren't going to be patient?" I paused. "He might die if you don't hurry," I said, pointing to the unconscious rogue. Elder Ruby frowned "I assumed you'd conduct the interrogation here. Why not start right away?" "I'm sure you don't want him to die right after his confession, Elder Ruby. It's best to cure him so he can respond more effectively." With my brow furrowed, I stated. "When you find something, anything, please let me know," she just nodded, getting my point. That was something I agreed on. "And please allow me to remind you once more. Nikky, look me in the eyes. Please do not murder anyone. I truly meant it. Just don't murder "Elder Ruby gave a solemn expression. "Elder Ruby, I despise promises. I cannot make that promise to you." With a chilly smile and my lips pulled up, I said.

Chapter 9

"Nikky, keep Lionel in mind," Leonard advised, motioning toward the car. Other warriors who boarded the cars followed him. Turning to face my blood-related father, I said, "I know, please greet my father on my behalf. Lionel is my sole father." The audience let out gasps and murmurs when they heard what I said. The pack's werewolves looked at my biological father with regret and sympathy. "You didn't do anything better, fools," I scoffed silently. My biological family members tormented me, and instead of defending me, they made matters worse. Look at them now, pitifully watching my real father while showing him compassion. He hadn't earned it. The abrupt change in their demeanor made me chuckle on the inside. In fact, karma is a jerk who will follow you wherever you go, no matter how hard you try to hide. I ignored their emotions and tapped Leonard's shoulders in front of me before asking him, 'Are you okay?' via mind-link. I'm not sure why Leonard dislikes the bloodthirsty me. Sometimes I think it's because of his childhood or something related to it. However, he refuses to tell me, and I am afraid to ask. Later on, he responded, also via mind-link, 'I am fine.' He then returned to stand next to me. I nod slightly as I scan Leonard's face, then turn to face the Nightcrawler Pack members, staring directly into another man's obvious glare. Should I call him my ex-mate or my friend? Samson, you're a jerk. 'Leonard, you lead from here,' I said across our mind-link, not wanting to say anything else. I didn't want any more bothers. Furthermore, having dried blood on your clothes is not a good look for anyone. Leonard bowed and looked Samson in the eyes before saying, "Please make room for my commander and me, Alpha Samson. We needed to rest. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated." Samson nodded before turning to face me, possibly hoping I'd start talking. It made me pause for a few seconds before I began laughing at him in my head. His ignorance generates a lot of laughter. He quickly shifted his gaze, giving the impression of being perplexed, confused... Serenity's presence temporarily disrupted the Alpha's aura. A half god will, of course, kill an alpha who challenges him. It would be foolish to try to coerce me into speaking with him, but Samson, unlike the first alpha, knew when to stop, and nearly died as a result. Alpha Pio is a moron. He was constantly looking for ways to exert control over me when I went to his pack for a rogue issue. I almost killed him when I couldn't take it any longer. He did not, however, die, and the elders forgave me despite their displeasure. "Samson Alpha..." Despite the fact that everyone was staring at me, my focus was on him. "I'm sure you don't want to end up like Pio," I said, glaring at him. The other pack members all turned to look at Samson when they realized what I was saying. Almost every werewolf in the pack knew what had happened to Alpha Pio. His near-death experience became so well-known in society because it almost happened in my hands, the hands of the venerable Sanguinex. Samson seemed taken aback by what I said. 'This stupid Alpha didn't seem to expect to be called out by me.' I pondered. I also told him not to challenge me. He wouldn't be doing me any favors by pushing me to my limits. As I was about to leave my job, my blood mother tried her luck once more "Please, Nikky... Please contact me. Believe me when I say I'm your mother." "Please don't make me repeat myself, ma'am. You and the other pack members would not be pleased if I lost my cool "I snarled, my gaze fixed on her. She flushed quickly as she swallowed her words. "Your mother is telling you the truth. We're all related, Nikky. We are your extended family." A deep voice could be heard during the brief pause. I came to a halt before turning to face the person I recognized. "Family," I said, my gaze fixed on the man. "Did I hear you correctly when you said we are family?" I went on. It was Eris, my biological brother. He's still rocking that black hair and brown eyes that looked exactly mine way before my appearance changed. I am astonished that my blood mother recognized me, given that Cindy was the favorite since—as far as I can recall—she inherited her appearance. Speaking of the bitch, she was also here. Cindy cast a smug glance at the latter as she stood tall with a mark on her neck. She seemed to be so proud, still the old Cindy that I know. I then turned to look at Eris, thinking, everything changed except for this brat. Still so arrogant and full of herself. "How could you refer to me as your family?" I yelled. Eris was the one among them to whom I felt the closest. But after that night, he abandoned me without regret or compassion. He feigned every act of love he gave me. I was mistaken about the only family love I have. They ought to love me despite the fact that I couldn't shift—but they didn't. They never did. Kindness is what sets apart my adopted family from my genetic relatives. I was unable to shift since I was weak, but Lionel, a stranger, assisted and gladly helped me. "Whipping your blood sister is hardly family love," I said with a chilly smile. Then, I turned to face my biological mother, saying, "Slapping your daughter and letting her cry all alone in a dark and cold room is not what a mother should do." After that, I looked over at my real father, "A father should not ignore his last born daughter. A father should never mistreat her child." Then, to Cindy, "Throwing a glass mirror at your sister and constantly reminding her that she's worthless is not what an elder sister should do." I paused and looked back over Eris. "Now tell me, Eris, or should I say, beta, is that what a family's definition is to you? Is that the right way a family should treat one member?" My eyes were fixated on him. Right now, he couldn't even utter a single word. It took a few seconds for me to go. I didn't wait for his reply or watch the group's reaction. I am clinging on by a thread while Serenity wants to kill them. "Leonard," I paused and looked across at him. The explanation for the reverberating gasps in the audience, I'm sure it was because of my blood-red eye. Serenity badly wants to take over. I said, "I will leave to inspect the pack before I kill someone," and I walked away.
